Dan Kaufman has been a writer and editor for over 30 years. After working on a variety of different magazines in the 90s, he then joined The Sydney Morning Herald, where he wrote for and edited almost every feature section at one time or another, from Travel to Health and Science. He also launched Sydney Bar Zine, which he ran for half a decade, and taught journalism and media writing at UTS and The University of Sydney. Dan then started writing and editing content for a wide range of organisations, from universities to government departments, and has worked on everything from annual reports to website copy. He’s the director of Media Survival, which runs writing, sub-editing, communications skills and media training courses, in addition to helping organisations improve their content. He also still writes the occasional column for The Sydney Morning Herald.
